My Name is Paul one of the Community Advisor and a Microsoft Consumer like you. I do apologize if you are having issues with your Windows 10 Machine and I am here to help you. Since its a External USB WebCamera and it has a built in Microphone lets try to check first if the Microphone is currently set as your default recording device.
Steps to Determine:
* Click START and search Control Panel and Open it.
* Look for SOUND icon inside of Control Panel and Open it.
* Go to Recordings TAB and check if the Camera Mic is set as default or you may right click on that window to check disabled or disconnected devices.
* You way also want to consider checking device manager and see if the device for the Microphone is listed under Audio Inputs and Outputs.
