USB 2.0 web camera driver for Windows 10 Home

My Name is Paul one of the Community Advisor and a Microsoft Consumer like you. I do apologize if you are having issues with your Windows 10 Machine and I am here to help you. Since its a External USB WebCamera and it has a built in Microphone lets try to check first if the Microphone is currently set as your default recording device.

Steps to Determine:

* Click START and search Control Panel and Open it.

* Look for SOUND icon inside of Control Panel and Open it.

* Go to Recordings TAB and check if the Camera Mic is set as default or you may right click on that window to check disabled or disconnected devices.

* You way also want to consider checking device manager and see if the device for the Microphone is listed under Audio Inputs and Outputs.

Thanks for your quick response.  Everything checks out according to your instructions but I cannot record or use any app that uses the microphone.

I have a USB2.0 web camera which works fine with Windows 7.  However, after I upgraded to Windows 10 Home, the microphone no longer works, although Windows shows that it is installed.

It is a generic web cam from china. Windows device manager is using Microsoft driver 10.0.18362.1 3/18/2019

it works with windows 7 and android devices and it worked on this computer before it was upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10.
