Clicking on that JAVA entry triggeres the following error message

Registry still contains 485 references to Java (& Javanese)

The key starting with 26A24AE4-039D does not exist in my registry, so I can't delete it.

C:\Windows\Systenm32\ contains no java entries.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm afraid you will have to deal with the Registry Editor:

Click on the Start Menu wand type regedit and click on OK to open the Windows Registry Editor.

    Go to the following path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion
    /Uninstall

Under the Uninstall folder, you will see the registry entry names enclosed in the curly bracket. Click on each registry entry name to find the Java keys and its associated on the right pane of the Registry editor.

Once you locate the keys, right click on the registry key name in curly bracket and click on Delete.

    Repeat with these paths:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace

    Fingers crossed !

Deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{4299124F-F2C3-41b4-9C73-9236B2AD0E8F} did it - even without a reboot !

    Thank you so much !

Hello Joseph, i'm Timon and i'm glad to help you.

Have you tried the Java uninstall tool ?

    https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp

Also, you can try the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter:

Running "https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp" returned "No Java versions were detected on your system." even though there are 485 registry items related to Java (or javanese) and I had already run the second link - which found Java auto-update (but not this time around). The entry in Control Panel persists. My system is 32xWin10v1909
