Most picture formats are already compressed, so you shouldn't expect much reduction by compressing them further.

In addition, we don't send large photos by email these days. We upload them to cloud storage and send a sharing link. Your recipient(s) can view and download the pictures at full resolution.

I got 5 pictures into the zip file but it only reduced their size a little bit and it still makes a big folder to send.   I expected to get them down to under 100 KBs,. but they only reduced by 1%.   E.g from 4,941 to 4,919 Kbs.

    Hi JAReynoldsZM,

I’m Rey, your Independent Advisor, and a Windows user, just like you.

I understand you want to compress pictures to send this as a compressed file in email. Let's work on that.

To compress a file, it's most likely the same as Windows 7. Do these steps:

    1. Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.
    2. Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.

Once you're done compressing, you may drag the compressed folder/zipped file to your email and drag-drop this.

If you're having some difficulties, let me know what mail application are you using; if it's the Microsoft Outlook or the Mail app of Windows 10.

YOu may check the compressing files from the link below to better understand it :
