HP LaserJet 1020

Dear all

My HP LaserJet 1020 worked until last night on my Windows 10 device without problem. This morning, Windows is just no recognising it and says device offline even though there is only one USB port to be used. So basically no changes since yesterday (or did the system make some automatic updates overnight).

I have uninstalled the device but I am not able to add it back as Windows is not seing the device when plugged in.

Can someone help?

Thanks

LuK

Hi LuK, This is Ken F. One of the Individual Advisor and a fellow user. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. If you're not seeing your device plugged in, I would suggest for you to reinstall the Driver of your Printer.

Here's where to download HP LaserJet1020 Driver

    https://support.hp.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservic...

If that didn't work, you may go to Microsoft Store, and Download HP Smart App

    https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c04675142

This app manages HP Printers and Scanners in Windows 10.

You may also use HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows to see what's really going on.

    Here's the link:

I hope these articles help you in your inquiry. If you needed further help, feel free to reply in this thread. Let's make it up and running together.

The last software and driver for your printer was published more than 4 years ago, on February 9, 2016 and is available from the HP website here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-1020-printer-series/439423

On the same page you can download HP's Print and Scan Doctor.

The same page has several videos explaining how to setup your printer.

Here is HP's own Community Forum:

    https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

Printers can go 'offline' (lose their network connection) for many reasons, most of which are unrelated to Windows. HP is in the best position to help you.
