Hi All,
While creating a team channel in Teams, it throws an error mentioning that " The channel name is already Taken". However, no channel name has been created with the same name. Can someone please assists in this issue.

We are having the same issue with wanting to create a channel in Teams and getting the same error "Channel name is already taken". We thought we had made sure it's been deleted from the 1st and 2nd stage recycling bins but still no luck. The deleted channel name still shows in the area for managing channels under deleted. Not sure what we are missing. Advice from others would be greatly appreciated.
Did you check deleted channels as well? Those will be kept for 30 days and will prevent you from creating a channel with the same name until they are permanently deleted.
Where to check the Deleted Teams? Navigation please?

1.If you have accidentally deleted the channel, click ‘More’ option (visible as 3 horizontal dots) adjacent to it and select ‘Manage Teams’ as shown in the screenshot below.
2.Move to the right-pane and access the ‘Channels’ listing, and the channel will show under the ‘Deleted’ list.

Why would this only be available in the Teams client and not in the Teams Administration portal?? If the Admin portal can add/edit/delete channels, why can't it see deleted channels?
