Hanns.G Monitor driver for Windows 10?

Hello, I just got a used Hanns.G HH281 28" Monitor. I am on Windows 10. I need a driver for my new screen. It's currently around 1600x1000. I need the full 1920x1200. I used this Monitor on an older PC and it automatically found the driver after about 2 hours. I didn't have to do anything. It was at 1920x1200. That's better than my current Dell 24" 1920x1080. (I'm using 2 Monitors on this PC.) I've had this Monitor for over 24 hours and no automatic driver update. I searched the Internet for a Hanns.g driver but couldn't find any. I found sites "DriverGuide.com" and "semantic.gs" but they are for paid driver scans and updates. I don't want to pay for anything. And I don't need a scan for drivers when I only need 1. So can anyone find the right driver for me? I checked eBay for Hanns.g install discs but couldn't find any. My new monitor was given to me for free and didn't come with an Install Disc. I'd be willing to pay a few dollars for one. I did find a Vista driver but I don't know how to use it. I'm attaching the .zip file of the Vista driver. Can anyone explain how to use it? I tried copying the driver on my other PC (the one that automatically found the driver) but I'm not sure how to do that. I found "monitor.sys" on the other PC, copied it to a flash drive and tried to copy/replace it with my current PC. It says "You need permission to perform this action." I'm not good with permissions. I tried copying the complete C:/Windows/System32/drivers" folder to my Desktop, replacing it with the new "monitor.sys" and then copying the drivers folder from my Desktop to the original location at "C:/Windows/System32." It has a lot of permission errors like above. 1 is for "...drivers/etc" folder. I'm not sure if replacing the monitor.sys file will even work. I've never tried it before. Not sure how else to find the driver. The monitor.sys file on my current PC that needs the Hanns.G driver is dated 9/15/2019. The one on my other PC that worked is 10/6/2019. I thought I might try deleting the old monitor.sys and then replacing it with my working one. Then I can get around the copy/replace needs permissions error. I don't want to ruin it for my second Dell 24" (that works.) Would my current screens turn black if I delete the monitor.sys? I don't know if it can operate without it. For the small-time it will take to replace it with my other monitor.sys. SO, can anyone find a Driver for Hanns.G HH281 Windows 10? Also, I tried their website. None. OR, how do I run the .zip file for Vista? I looked at "HH281_64.inf" in Notepad and it says max resolution 1920x1200. I don't know how to run .inf or .icm or .cat. And that's for Windows Vista. Not Windows 10. Please reply. Thanks

If you are yet to resolve then i have the same monitor and after a gpu upgrade it didnt recognise correct aspect for monitor, in fact only had 640x480, what i did was use a CRU to add the additional resolutions which worked fine, very simple ! https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

hope that helps - just add the resolution in the middle box option as 1920x1200 @ 75hz.

I successfully copied/replaced the monitor.sys file. Changed permissions to "Everyone." It says 10/6/2019. Same as on my PC that works with this monitor. I restarted but it still won't go to full resolution. I wasn't sure if the .sys file would help. Not sure about where the drivers are for my Generic PnP Monitor. Anyone?

Hi, I'm back. I tried iObit Driver Booster 7 and it found 2 drivers for "Generic PnP Monitor." That's what it says in Device Manager (PnP Monitor.) I installed them and restarted. Still no options to go above the recommended 1600x1000. Then I tried Ashampoo  Driver Updater Free. It says all drivers are fine. Nothing to update. Any ideas? I need that driver! I emailed the person who gave me this Hanns.G monitor. I asked them if they have an install disc. I'm waiting for a reply.

I found that Newegg has the Monitor for sale so I chatted with them about the driver. They gave me a link to "https://www.driverscape.com/download/hh281." It looks correct. I downloaded the free single file and will wait until Friday to pay for their auto scan/install software. I'm not sure how to run the file. I extracted it and found two folders.

    "HH281 ICM & INF_20090615" and "HH281 catalog file."

I extracted the Catalog file a second time and got 2 folders named driver000 and driver 001. One has 64-bit and the other 32. I'm attaching screenshots. Then I copied them to "HH281 ICM & INF_20090615". One for 32-bit folder and 1 for 64. Then I right clicked "HH281" ICC and chose "Install Profile". After that I right clicked "HH281_64" and chose "Install." It says "the operation completed successfully." I rebooted and tried the resolution settings. It still won't go above 1600x1050. It now says "HannStar LCD Monitor" where before it didn't. So that's good. I opened the .inf file in notepad and it says

    "[1920] HKR,,MaxResolution,,"1920,1200"

So what am I doing wrong? How do I run and install the driver files and get it to the max resolution? I'm attaching a copy of the driver zipped...Please reply. Thanks

I'm back...I had problems with the 10/06/2019 driver. I had to reinstall Windows 10. I won't mess with that folder. So does anyone know where I can get the driver or an install disc? For Hanns.G Monitor?
