I have an HP 23-q227c.  Somehow it went into mute mode when viewing videos.  Audio settings on the file and computer indicate 50% power.  I can't find anything in my audio settings to explains this.  Help?

    Hi Art,

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about sound issues when watching videos.

May I ask what application are you using when playing videos? Are you having the same issue when watching videos on Youtube.com? Let's try this troubleshooting. Open the video where you are having a sound issue. Right-click on the sound icon on the system tray (bottom-right part beside date and time) and choose volume mixer. Make sure that all sounds for all applications are not muted.

I hope my suggestions help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.

    Thanks,

    Wilfred P.

If you totally don't have sound on your entire computer I would suggest performing troubleshooting steps on this link particularly the 2nd method. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/452028...

    Hi Wil,

Thanks for your response.  I use Internet Explorer to access the web and I use Movies & TV, as recommended by Windows 10, for videos.  I get video but no sound on Youtube.com.  The sound on the video and computer is not muted and is set an medium levels.

I've tried using Windows Media Player and RealPlayer with no luck.  I also tried using Edge and Chrome again with no luck.  Any additional suggestions?

    Regards,

    Art
