Installing windows 7 using an USB; error

Hi, so after i updated my win 10 recently i started getting bluescreens out of nowhere so i decided that i'm done with win 10 for now and burned windows 7 iso on my usb drive. Once I get to the installation screen where normally there should be displayed license agreement i get error "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing..." et cetera. I heard that you can "fix" this by simply plugging usb to another port but it doesn't work for me since i get another message: "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK". I have Lenovo Ideapad Y700 and my motherboard appears to be using InsydeH20 bios if that's of any help.

All help is appreciated. I want to get rid of windows 10 for now and go on well-earned win7 vacation.

This is a known problem.  It results from two facts:

    • The chipset on your main board has only USB 3 drivers
    • The Windows 7 installer has not USB 3 drivers

You need to create a modified ISO that has USB 3 drivers included.  If you bought your system new from an OEM with Win7 pre-installed, they should have (and likely did not) provided you with installation media adapted for this.  Creating your own is a complicated process.  Dell has published a web page that describes in detail on to do it.  I did it, but I must tell you, it was challenging.  I suspect most people will give up and just let Win10 wash over them.

    https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-ca/how11804/how-to-install-windows-7-on-systems-with-skylake-chipset?lang=en

The product of your efforts will be a USB device that has a revised Win7 ISO, with which you can install Win7 on your computer.

By chance, is this a Dell computer?

tbh i suspect that win7 installer doesn't have usb3 drivers since my mouse didn't work when i tried to install win7. few minutes ago i tried to make a bootable usb using instructions from here https://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Bootable-Windows-7-or-Vista-USB-Drive but i'll see how it goes since i have some pretty serious assigments tomorrow morning. if it won't work i'll use instructions from dell. thanks for help.
