I had the same problem except i rebooted my router and the problem came back 5 minutes later.
My ethernet connection has suddenly stopped working. It was fine up to yesterday.
I have a desktop computer with Windows 10, Home Edition, connected to a 2G/5G router. I've never had issues with the internet before. My ethernet connection suddenly stopped yesterday around 4 PM, so I checked the Settings and found that it read "unidentified network, no connection" on the ethernet page, instead of my network's name like normal. The odd thing is, I discovered that Wifi still works, even the 5G channel, so the router itself isn't down for some reason (although even 5G is quite slow at the moment, as I'd imagine wireless internet is being used a ton right now). I've tried plugging the ethernet cable back into the router, then back into the computer, even restarting the computer itself, but nothing has worked. It's like the cable simply isn't recognized as being plugged in, despite it working fine just yesterday morning.
Not sure what's going on here, as this has never happened before. Assistance would be appreciated.

2020-04-13T18:32:33+00:00 Hello Ian#Miller, I am Andrew an independent advisor. From what you are saying, such as network name changing and WIFI being slow I would recommend rebooting your router, see if that fixes the issue. Unplug the power for a good 60 seconds and restore power. The common issue seems to stem from there.
While rebooting the router lets flush the DNS, you can accomplish this by opening the command prompt and type IPCONFIG /FLUSH DNS
Open the command prompt by typing CMD in the search bar.
If internet is not restored on the PC lets me know the results of what you did and we can further troubleshoot the issue.
Regards,
Andrew
