I could not play a video and a pop said I needed to buy A HEVC Extension from the Microsoft Store. Which I did, but when I tried to play the video again, I received the same message about buying the HEVC Extension.

It is fixed now

Ohhh, thats great to know since that information regarding the dual drive is not included in this specific thread. I do hope that it will be fixed but if not please let me know if there's something that I can help.

    Regards Jill

Hi, I did buy it but could not get it to install, it turns out the download default wasn't to the correct drive on my computer as it is a dual drive system. Neha send me to the download link which helped and advised me to do a couple of other things.

    Thanks for the reply

    Hell JillBradder,

My Name is Paul one of the Community Advisor and a Microsoft Consumer like you. it looks like that the extension that you tried to download is a paid app that's why the store is asking you to buy it. Some of the apps do have a limited trial and it will ask for a payment after a certain amount of time .

Here's a link workaround that you can get the extension for free.

Please let me know if you have further more questions regarding this and I will reply back as soon as I can.
