How do I enable/disable the Integrated Camera on my Dell laptop running Windows 7?   Control panel didn't help.

    1. check Device Manager
    2. Start button (bottom left)
    3. type device into the text box that pops up
    4. Click on device manager

See if there is an "Imaging Device"  -- your webcam there.

If it is check Properties (Right-click).  If it shows device is working properly, then it is there and working.  You just need a program that accesses it.

    If it is not there:

Go to the Dell Support page, enter your service tag and look in Device drivers.  Find the one for you camera.  Download and install it.  If you cannot find that specific driver, download and install the Chipset driver.

If it still not there, you can find a USB Webcam on Amazon for about $30 Cdn.

The integrated camera currently works OK, but I want to turn it off and on occasionally.  The system keeps trying to install a driver that doesn't exist for this device (obsolete?)

The solution to that is so very simple.  A 1" piece of black electrical tape.  If you uninstall it, it will re-install after every restart.
