I have an application Mediatek RT1870 Wireless LAN showing up on myu list of installed applications and it is using up over 5GB of space.  Is this normal?  Can I remove it?

I have checked my wireless adapter and it states that it is a Dell adapter which would make sense as it is a Dell XPS27 all-in-one PC.

The PC is running really slowly and I am trying to remove applicatrions that I don’t use to see if that helps. How can I tell if applications are being used by the PC?

    Hi H11TSR

If you are seeing that application is using 5GB of space in the list of installed applications, that is just being mis-reported, that is just a bit of software for your WiFi card . . .

Locate that application in eight C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (86) and check the size of its folder, I doubt it is larger than 100MB . . .

    Thanks DaveM121.

You were right the folder size is 100MB so Windows misreporting the size.

Now how do I find out if it is being used and can I remove it safely?
