The problem is that when you carry the keyboard in a backpack the buttons get pushed constantly and you go through batteries like bubble gum. These things really should have ON / OFF switches
Wireless keyboard 850
I have a new wireless keyboard 850, but all instructions say to turn it on using the on/off switch. i can't find a switch on this model - is there one? And if not how do I know it's on? Other instructions say put batteries in and plug in receiever - both done but nothing happening!

2019-06-05T14:05:42+00:00 Usually, a wireless keyboard does not have an on/off switch. Just tapping on a key should activate it. The mouse does have a switch to save battery life but the keyboard would time out with no use.
If your keyboard is not working, verify that the batteries are inserted correctly. I assume you did insert the small transceiver.

2020-05-30T14:53:04+00:00 I know this is almost a year later...just received my 850 board and mouse..for the keyboard- there isn't an ON/OFF switch...when you insert the batteries, an LED light comes on in the lower right front corner of the keyboard and goes out after a few seconds...when you're done using the keyboard, it will shut off after a short period of time...when using it again, a tap on any of the keys will activate it...the matching mouse has an ON/OFF switch...when you're done with the mouse, remember to slide the switch to the OFF position to save your battery....I really like my new keyboard and mouse...the board is about 1/3 larger than the old one and the mouse fits my hand perfectly...top quality product for a very reasonable price....TWO THUMBS UP!

2019-06-06T11:29:45+00:00 I have never experienced that so I truly am unsure.
Does the mouse work? I ask only to make sure the transceiver is working.
Do you have a different USB port you can plug it into?
When you plug the transceiver it, the PC should make a sound indicating it found a new device.
I'm not sure if this will help but check out this thread:

2019-06-06T07:53:53+00:00 The batteries are in correctly and the transceiver is in a USB port but it doesn’t respond when i type a key. Do i need to add a device on settings or anything like that?
