Hi,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
We understand the concern as you are unable to find the default application on your PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:
- What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 currently installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
- What is the model number of the PC?
- What is the update that installed on the PC prior to this issue (KB number)?
- Did you login to an Administrator account?
- Are you not able to see the desktop shortcuts, after the update?
- Did you try restarting the PC multiple times?
- Are you able to see the apps in Start Menu?
Ideally, Windows Update should not cause this issue. However, you may want to check in the C:\Users folder and see if there any folders named Temp.000. If you find any folders starting with Temp, then it seems that there is an issue with the user profile on your computer.
We would suggest you to re-registering the app: Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) > Copy and paste this command: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}> Press Enter key to complete, later restart the PC and check.
Please help us with the above information for further investigation on the issue and request you to reply in English for better understanding, as this is an English Windows Community forum.
