No pairing button on arc mouse

My version of the arc mouse doesn't have a pairing button.  I had to get a new surface 2 laptop (same version I had paired with the mouse before), and I can't remember how to make the mouse discoverable on bluetooth at this point.  I DO have the usb plugged in.  Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Your ARC mouse is wireless only and is not Bluetooth compatible. you can only use it with a USB dongle that came with the mouse. There are other ARC mice which are Bluetooth and do not have a USB dongle - and also have a pairing button. It mentions it on the box that the mouse came in. if you no longer have the box then that's probably why you don't know that it isn't bluetooth and is USB wireless only.

I have the same question, along with 86 other users, but Microsoft has not answered.    I understand many ppl are working from home (due to the COVID pandemic); however, if Corporate employees are going to justify that working from home increases productivity, then users should see fast, viable solutions to their questions. Eight-Six people are claiming to have the same problem, but there are zero responses from Microsoft!

I computer savvy, a tech geek, and I have tried every possible Bluetooth pairing solution.  I've spent over 3 hours trying to pair the MS arc mouse to my HP Spectre laptop.  I've searched online, and attempted every conceivable 'hold button' scenario, trying to initiate the blinking blue pairing sequence.   Sometimes the light does blink, and I am not sure how enabled the blinking, but even when the light flashes, my HP Spectre laptop, in Bluetooth-add mode, does not find the MS arch mouse.

So far, I am NOT impressed with the NEW Microsoft ARC Mouse (without the Bluetooth Pairing Button), nor am I impressed with the Microsoft team responsible for monitoring the MS forums.  Microsoft, don't you have response SLA's for responding to HOT customer forum topics?  If not, you need to begin TQM Total Quality Management education, so you are delighting your users!

    thanks AubreyH.

I have 2 arc mice - 1 is Bluetooth compatible and one is USB compatible. I forgot and took my USB mouse with me on the road, forgetting that my dongle is attached to my dock.

So.... if you don't have an easily identifiable reset/pair button, it is NOT Bluetooth compatible and needs the USB connection

MS should make this much more visible when you buy these mice and when you use them - they all look the same and so are confusing...

thanks again for reminding me - I will be putting a note on the mouse so I don't make that mistake again.

    Hi. Cavemen!

I assume Microsoft is talking about the device pairing button on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse must be ON for that. I doubt that it will function with a *Bluetooth which is a problem for me and my house.

Hello, I have tried it all, but my version of this ARC mouse  does not have a reset/pair button, and it does have a usb wireless adapter. The mouse green light turns on briefly after turning on the mouse (put in arch mode) but then it turns off. The blue sensor light stays on and reacts to movement, the roll works and vibrates, but the mouse just will not operate. Any thoughts? I am thinking that the transmission module burned and even though I did a hard reset by pressing both buttons before turning on the mouse, and the green light blinks for about 2 seconds very fast, in the end it still turns off and it cannot be discovered by its own usb wireless connector or the bluetooth of the computer.
