Facebook video chat not working on Windows 10
Have spent several days attempting to get this video chat working. So far, nothing has helped. Camera and mic work fine using Skype, but not if using Facebook chat. Whenever I click on the camera icon in Facebook chat I get the following error:
An Error occured when trying to get access to Microphone:
Access to Media Devices has been denied.
To make a call, you need to turn your microphone on. This will let people hear you during the call.
You can turn this off later. Learn more

Try to change the privacy settings of Camera and Microphone
Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera
Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone
On each settings page scroll down, make it sure the Facebook Messenger app is allowed / toggled ON
no use

2020-05-06T01:54:26+00:00 Hopefully they find an answer. I have the same issue. It was working before, I guess before the update or whatever. Was surprising when it stopped. I have the app also and even tried video chatting through facebook.com and still nothing :(

2020-04-06T21:21:55+00:00 Try to reset the Messenger app.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Apps -> Apps & features.
- On the right side, look for Messenger and click it.
- The advanced options link will appear. Click it.
- On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Messenger to default settings.
