    Hi Michael,

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you.

The password hint is only available if you are using a Local account to log in to Windows 10. It will appear on the login screen if you entered your password incorrectly. The password hint would only give you a hint that can help you remember your password.

I hope the information I provided will help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.

    Thanks,

    Wilfred P.

No it wont... This windows 10 only has one local user and none other. In fact theres already a thread about this here:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-security/windows-10-login-password-hint-fails-to-appear/c88df1d3-85b5-415e-b58f-493946e94b6b

...where tech support tells the person the same thing. Not to mention hilariously wants him to go into settings and bla bla bla. What happens when a user forgot his password but put it into the hint? Nothing... When ones creates a password for a local account in windows 10 it asks one for a password hint giving one the impression that this will be displayed somewhere and saying nothing about its displaying having to be "turned on". Kind of ridiculous, but thats microsoft in a nutshell I guess, absolutely useless no matter how small the thing you expect from it is!

If you have another account that you can use to access the computer, try to follow the troubleshooting provided by A. User on the link that you provided. According to him. changing the password for that local account can fix the issue of password hint not showing.
