Whenever my computer restarts, I lose recently made files, and all the add-ons/cookies to Firefox

This started since a recent update probably from earlier this year (it's hard to remember because this year has been stressful enough as is).  Whenever the computer restarts I lose a the last several days of data (like games off Steam), but it only goes back a few days so not all of it vanishes.  All the add-ons and put on my browser of choice disappear, as do my automatically filled out login information.  And all the files I downloaded and are in the Downloads folder (or quick access) just disappear.  Any wallpapers I put up just revert to the stock wallpaper and or any new programs I install, the desktop icons disappear but the files remain if I made them a few days before a random restart.

This wasn't an issue until that last big update that I installed.

I've look around and saw issues about a (KB4532693), but I can't find it when I search for files to uninstall.

Help.

Hi TB. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

    1. See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

If the problem repeats then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

    1. Check at Settings > System > Storage > Configure Storage Sense > Temporary Files > Files in Download folder to make sure it's not set to delete Downloads.

Another place to check is Disk Cleanup which may be automated by System Maintenance. Uncheck the box to delete Downloads folder: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/d...

    1. Try Refreshing Firefox:

    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/refresh-firefox-...

If that's not enough then uninstall Firefox in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, restart PC, then reinstall Firefox from a fresh download:

    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

For the first point, when I try to do the system restore points, I set one up for today, but then when I go to revert to a previous state, the only other ones available are just from today.  The second point, for the downloads setting, it's already set to never.

I'm not going to bother with the Firefox one because it's not the only thing effected by this "update."
