ACPI ATK0100 kernel mode driver not installed

I recently pulled the HDD from my ASUS N61JQ-X1 to a Panasonic laptop I had received from work that was new-ish (fresh from packaging, highly outdated as it still ran Win7 & has very outdated components) that they had to get rid of due to lifcycle replacement. It is giving me the error “ACPI ATK0100 kernel mode driver not installed” even though it isnt an ASUS laptop. I installed Win10 hoping it would fix the issue, but that didnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Em. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

Did you wipe the drive using Diskpart Clean Command or at least deleting all partitions before installing Windows 10?

Have you installed the latest drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model? While there check for the latest Chipset, BIOS, Sound, Network, USB3, Bluetooth and all other drivers to compare with the version/date installled for that device in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

What is the status of the ACPI drivers in Device Manager, after choosing Show Hidden Devices in View tab. These are often under System devices. Update the chipset from the manufacturer's website.

For Intel run the updater here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/...

For Nvidia run this updater: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e...

For AMD run this one: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

If drivers remain in error with a ! mark in Dev Mgr, report back their Hardware ID found on Details tab, then drop down the menu to Hardware ID, right click the short string ID to copy and paste here and in Google to find driver.
