Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Windows 10 won't go pass the initial "Lenovo Logo" screen

Hello everyone,

I've been using this Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Windows 10 laptop since end of April. It ran smoothly until today, when it started crashing and after two restarts now it's stuck in the black screen with the Lenovo logotype; although I have seen also the "Diagnosing your PC", "Repairing", and also tried to install the scanning and repairing drive tool from a external USB. It got to 100% and then went again to the black screen with the spinning white dots. I've tried everything, and it is impossible to get to the startup repair options, even after turning on/off the laptop four times.

No keyboard combination works, either (alt+ctrl+del; alt+ctrl+esc; F8; F12; F12+Enter; etc...). I really don't know what else to do and I'm in the middle of my uni online exams.

Thans in advance!

I would advise to take out the RAM/Memory Stick and put it back in and then power up the system again. But before you do that please contact Lenovo warranty support so that they can guide you properly.

Hey again. I finally got to reach the troubleshooter, after trying everything. Should I proceed with the USB booting?

Would you recommend something else first?

Hi there Luis, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

Please shut down the computer normally, once its completely off disconnect all the peripherals connected, External Keyboard, External mouse Ethernet and power cord. Once everything has been removed do not reconnect yet just press and hold the power button for 10 - 15 seconds to drain all the power. Then reconnect only the Power cord then power it up, see if Windows will become responsive, then reconnect the keyboard and mouse and test one at a time.

Lets try to force it to boot to the Windows Recovery screen then perform a System Restore.

Here is how to force it.

Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

Press the power button again to turn on your device.

On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

Press the power button again to turn on your device.

When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

Press the power button again to turn on your device.

Allow your device to fully restart. You will enter winRE.

Once you are there go yo Advance then Troubleshoot then System Restore.

Choose a restore point then hit finish.

Alright, already did that before, and I tried again after reviewing your message. It has already like 10 minutes with the Lenovo logo in a black screen, and the spinning dots below that. Nothing else to remark.

That's the main problem, I don't seem capable to access the Troubleshoot system restore.

    Hey Ferdinand,

Thanks for the prompt answer. I tried following your recommendations. Nothing different happened, although the USB wireless mouse works even on the black screen with the lone cursor.

Still stuck on this, and don't know what else to do.
