I really wanna know this specific trojan please is there a person that can tell me exactly this type of trojan? I heard it is not extracting your personal files but is that true?

Also, my windows defender didn't do anything it just warned me, and then after a few minutes I put the virus in quarantine which I am little worried it had some minutes to do things on my computer during these minutes like 10 what can this trojan possibly have done and extracted?

How can I also see the virus activity on the even logger? for example remote connection it uses to inform the hacker what it has collected for data or personal files?

i really want someone expert to tell me this and answer my questions.

Wacatac (also known as Trojan:Win32/Wacatac) is a trojan-type infection that stealthily infiltrates computers and performs a number of malicious actions. Cyber criminals typically proliferate this malware using spam email campaigns and fake software 'cracks'.

Windows Defender would mention the potential threat to you but it is up to you to delete it altogether from the system. Currently, if the Virus is in the Quarantine and you can delete it from there.

hello do you happen to know why windows defender just gave me the option to take action myself? I thought it stopped the trojan directly but it only notified me,

can I view the event log to see exactly if this trojan did use some internet connection? such as giving out information to a hacker

I was wondering, I am aware that certain viruses such as trojans and others of the sort can hide themselves from the task manager and security applications. Is this one known to do that? I was also wondering what would hint at a payload (lag, popups, etc). Im just wanting to make sure that this virus was taken care of.

    Hi LingqiunanChaney,

I apologize that the above solutions didn't address the issue.

With regards to the windows defender issue. Trojans advance faster than Windows Defender’s updates, which usually leaves users stranded when it comes to removing them completely. You can Update Windows Defender library of definitions or Run a virus scan with Microsoft Safety Scanner to address this issue.

For the event logs. Honestly don't have any experience wherein event logs will provide information if a virus connects to your internet. But it most case event logs will give you information about the activity of the virus like changing your settings , type of files that the virus is executing, etc.

So lets check with the other experts for additional information on how we can address the issue.

    Regards,
