Windows 10 computer - Norton Internet Security

I read several posts about incompatibility between Norton Security and Windows 10. I am not a tech person, so when I purchased a Dell Windows 10 computer I assumed I would need to download/upgrade my Norton subscription. Based on the posts, my understanding is Microsoft Edge has it's own security and I don't need Norton now. What if I use/switch to another browser (i.e. Google Chrome) will I still be protected by the security features in Microsoft Edge/Windows 10? I know one is a browser and the other an operating system, but frankly the posts just tended to confuse me. I need to do all the same things on my new computer that I did on my old Windows 7

with Norton. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated...

If there is no other antivirus programs loaded all you need is Windows Security and Malwarebytes.

3rd party antivirus programs can cause problems for Windows Security.

    Hi Ginger5-201,

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you.

It is actually your choice if you want to use a 3rd party Internet Security software like Internet Security. But yes Windows 10 already has its own anti-virus software which is the Windows Defender and at the same time, Microsoft Edge also has Smart Screen. If you want to use a different browser, Google Chrome also has a similar feature called Safe Browsing which you can access on the browser's settings. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/99020?...

I hope the information I provided will help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.

    Thanks,
