Event ID 2004 (Event Viewer)

After updating Windows and reinstalling my system a few months ago I've ran into an issue with my game crashing, after extensive searching my results were finding the location access errors 2004 & 1023 with sysmain.dll being unable to load from my Event viewer log, however the one issue 1023 was resolved by a simple permissions switch on the dll file itself, however after many more re-installs and BIOS updates/driver downgrades there has been no success in doing so, I'm curious as to whether there will be a fix to this issue in the future, as it stands I cannot play my game at all.. If anyone could provide assistance as to some workaround it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Hello Nikhar_K thanks very much for the response:

    Here follows the information:

Game is Warhammer Online (Although its attempting to connect to my custom server), let it also be noted that I had no issues running the game previously until the time specified in my primary post.

No errors as far as I know (Other than those present in Event viewer), however I was receiving an application error Event 1000 when testing the game recently, although this is not recurrent

Windows version is 1909 (OS Build is 18363.815), again I believe this issue wasn't occurring before a recent update, but I could be incorrect in that assertion.

As for PC, it is custom-built, but the Motherboard is Gigabyte H370 Gaming Wifi, BIOS is version F14b, processor is i7-8700, GPU is Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 and RAM 32GB (I've also tested it with Memtest86 with no errors)

Have attempted a clean boot - However still no luck. Many thanks again for the assistance.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that the games crash when you launch them. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

The Event error 2004 occurs when there is a low virtual memory condition. However, please let us know:

    • May I know the game that you are trying to play?
    • Do you receive any error when the game crash?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type: winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit Enter.
    • What is the make and model of the computer?

You may try performing Clean Boot and see if the PC boots normally.

Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

To perform a clean boot on the computer refer to the article How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot to check which program is causing the issue.

Note: Please refer the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshootingto boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting.

You can also try increasing the Virtual Memory and see if that helps. To do this, refer the article on How to Increase Virtual Memory in Windows 10: A Quick Guide by Edu Baloja.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
