Good day! I'm Raniel, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Have you also tried to reset your Windows update components? Kindly refer to this link as a guide on how to perform it: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deploy...

You may also use the Windows update assistant tool to update your machine: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/315963...

If the issue persist, you may also use the Windows Media creation tool for the upgrade: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    I hope this helps.

I have had the same issue with every update since May.

The most recent 2020-07 Cumulative Update? Yes: "Install error - 0x800f0831"

I have done everything except for a clean install of Windows.

In a time where people are relying on their computers more than ever, this is unacceptable. As a public safety supervisor needing my computer nearly all the time... it is even less than acceptable if that is even possible.

I will await some sort of fix for this.

    Thank you.

I ended up upgrading  to windows 10 2004 to fix it.

if you wait for  microsoft to fix, you will wait forever.

microsoft does not care about you or their other customers.

they release buggy and insecure products and then don’t support fixing them with fixes that actually work.

i just bought another mac. Microsoft’s incompetence is stunning. The only reason i was using windows was to play a couple of games. Just decided the games were not worth the hassle of microsoft’s **** operating systems.

it was easier and ultimately cheaper to get an imac and  nintendo switch then to continue to waste hours troubleshooting, microsoft’s piss poor quality operating systems.

I think the KB4549951 causes errors, I tried uninstalling it and but failed and shows

"An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled"

Uninstalling the latest quality update from the Advanced Startup also didnt work

My Windows Update also has an install error problem for the new cumulative updates
