So i simply turned my PC off went and had lunch and cane back half an hour later turned it back on and now the display is at an incorrect ratio and i cant alter it, looked online and tried everything i could find from uninstalling and reinstalling video card drivers to going through the NVIDIA control panel into the 'adjust desktop size and position' option trying all the things in there still not a thing changes.

Can anyone give me some more assistance, nothing was installed or updated before i restarted the PC which is why to me it makes zero sense

Thank-you in advance for any help

    Hi Bryan

    1

Right click your Desktop, choose Display Settings

Is Resolution and Scale set to the items marked (recommended)?

    2

Right click your Desktop, do you see the control panel for your graphics card?

If so, open that and look for an Aspect Ratio setting, try each option there to see which one fits your screen better

    3

On that monitor is a menu button, press that

Look for an Autofit or scaling setting to resize the image on your screen . . .

    Hi Bryan

    1

On the back of your monitor, there should be a label with the exact Model No. please post that here

    2

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Menu)

Expand the Display Adapters section, what device(s) are listed there, is that just the Nvidia card, or is there also an Intel HD device?

    Hi Dave,

Thanks again for your assistance.. I thought it was quite strange my monitor had no buttons but I discovered that my on off button was actually a joystick so i had menu options available to me, it must have been knocked somehow unknowingly, I have resolved the issue.

    Thank you again
