I'm looking to disable Windows 10 touchpad gestures completely

My touchpad is a Precision touchpad. When I enter UEFI Bios in my Dell laptop, the touchpad gestures are disabled completely "multi-finger scroll etc." I want to achieve that inside Windows 10.

disabling them from windows settings won't be enough, as I want to be able to move my cursor using two fingers in the touchpad. But it wouldn't move even with disabling the gestures. However I can move the cursor with two fingers on the touchpad when I'm inside UEFI.

Model: Dell xps 15 7590

    Hi,

im pretty sure you need to have the correct drivers and software installed to change the touchpads behaviour in windows (since the drivers have already been loaded).

If your Notebook is a Dell xps 15 7590 you should try to install the drivers you can receive from Dell. Maybe try using your service tag to find the correct drivers.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying you have a precision touchpad as long you did not modify your notebooks hardware or are using a external touchpad.

    Regards,

    Felix

Thanks, I managed to install it somehow. Unfortunately turning the gestures off didn't do the trick, I also tried to change the pointer speed via this tool and it didn't affect the speed at all.

    Hi,

i would suggest updating your drivers (especially for your touchpad):

    https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de/product...

After that you should have the software you need to set-up your touchpad and disable gestures.

    Kind regards,

I tried downloading Dell pointing devices but it only redirect me to Windows Store for an App called Alienware Pointing Devices. However I managed to download something called Dell Touchpad Settings and this is what I got:

    Hi,

my name is Felix and as an independent advisor i will try to help you to solve your problem.

If the touchpad drivers are installed correctly you should be able to disable the gestures using the Dell Pointing Devices software. This is explained here:

    https://www.dell.com/support/article/de-de/sln1...

I hope this helps to answer your question. If not feel free to ask again.

    Kind regards,

    Felix
