Move PC game pass games from HDD to SSD

Hello I have been playing games on my pc game pass for a few months. Today I installed a SSD and I cant seem to transfer my installed game pass games from the HDD onto my SSD. I have been able to do so with my Steam account games but I read that as these games arent technically mine I am unable to move them once installed on a drive. I have set it up so the new games I install will go on the SSD but does anyone know if it is possible to move installed games from the HDD to SSD on PC game pass. Thank you.

Hi! You do can move installed games from your HDD to SSD without uninstalling and re-installing the game.

Just go to WINDOWS->SETTINGS->APPS(APPS AND FEATURES) then look for the game you want to move, left-click on it, and 2 options will come out: Move or Uninstall. Click on Move, select your SSD and you're done!

    Regards!

My pleasure. Good luck and enjoy the games.

I will mark this as resolved.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Chris0981,

My name is Carl and I am an independent Windows 10 advisor.

I've had the same issue. Sadly, at the moment, it's not possible. It may come in a future version of the Xbox Game Pass app (and please ensure you feedback via clicking on your avatar and then clicking Feedback). You can uninstall the game and reinstall the game which will move it but that's about as close as it gets.

    Kind regards,

    Carl.

    Hi Chris

Yes your save games should be kept. If you check which games it is there are either a cloud saves option (in which case you should be fine) or they will be stored locally. Check Documents folder under your user account and see if they’re there (in which case you can make a copy).

Game Pass is still in beta so I’d highly recommend you back the save games up before removal.

    Kind regards,

    Carl.

    Hi Carl

Thank you for that, I did fear as much.

Do you know if it keeps my save games as I dont want to waste time that Ive already invested in the games by having to start again?

    Thanks again

    Chris
