My Micro SD card thinks it's write protected

Hello, I need help with my Micro SD card.  It is a 512 GB SD card and it is about 3 months old and it worked perfectly fine until recently.  I think what caused it to go into write protection mode was that I made my iTunes iPhone backup symbolic linked to the SD card so that it would back up to the SD card instead of my computer, and it worked fine for a few days until one day when I started backing it up, it got almost done but then it said it failed.  I tried again multiple times but everytime it would say it failed shortly after I started the backup, and then I realized the thing was write protected, even though it's a Micro SD card with no regular SD card attachment, I've put it in a camera before after all of this and the camera also says that it is write protected.  I've tried using diskpart to fix it but it will not change anything and I really want to get it fixed so I don't have to get a new one and copy all the data off of it.  Thanks, help would be great!

Well I have tried about everything I think, and none of it has worked.. I don’t exactly know what’s up with the SD card, my guess is that since I backed up my phone to it for a few days maybe since there are thousands of files in each backup, it came to the end of its ability to write as that’s how I’ve heard that SD cards do, but I really hope that isn’t the case so that I can still use it, I guess I will probably keep looking for more methods and hopefully one of them will work, if anyone reading this has an idea, please tell me, thanks!

Have you copied the files off the card so you have them safe, you should still be able to do that even if it is read only.

Once the files are safe open Disk Management and see if you can delete the partition and create a new volume.

    Hi Buick,

You may also perform the additional steps on this guide and see if it works as well: https://howtorecover.me/remove-write-protection...

If it still doesn't work, then the best thing to do is to purchase/borrow an external drive with the capacity large enough to copy the files from your Micro SD card, then proceed with the format to be able to use it again.

Hoping for your feedback. Thank you.
