Upgrading OS from Windows CE to Windows 10 IoT

Hello everyone,

As we all know, Windows CE has now been replaced with Windows 10 IoT.

We are developing technology for the Telematics industry and there are a lot of devices on Alibaba, Aliexpress, etc which are available as brand new with Windows CE, instead of Windows 10 IoT.

We also have a number of devices on our shelves which are in the same situation.

I have heard that Windows 10 IoT have a lot of great functionalities and features which can cater for our requirements. However, I am stuck on how to make a start.

Is there a download (free or purchased) where we can install onto the device to upgrade from Windows CE to Windows 10 IoT?

Is there also a Windows Marketplace for Windows 10 IoT?

Thank you in advance,

Michael

    Hello MichaelBenk,

thank you for providing this question.

I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

    Yes that should be possible.

The manager to allow flashing of devices and all documentation can be found here:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/iot-co...

I would however recommend you ask further more specific questions about this more admin orientated subject in technet instead of here in the user forum:

    social.technet.microsoft.com/

If you consider your problem solved it would be very good if you marked the answer which helped you so others can find and use this thread.

If this didn't solve your problem or you need further assistance please answer in this thread and i would be happy to help.

    kind regards

    F. Grobusch
