I also received a SCAM email regarding Windows Defender Protection.  I called the phone number.  The person who answered the phone was trying to tell me about a $299 subscription charge.  And made little sense.  I hung up quickly.

I did not respond to the email.  The disguised email address is:  ******@icloud.com

Hi there monroejohnson, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

Thank you for the information, please be careful as Windows Defender normally would not flash any number to contact.

I received a similar email and I called the number to cancel any payment and block my card from being used again.  SUPPOSEDLY! I only gave them my email address, which they already had and they said a fraudulent charges was being initiated from Russia and/or Germany.

They wanted me to go to a website and download something and that is when I refused.  Btw, the voice on the phone sounded like he was from Russia.  I am sure it was just a scam but I am a little worried about them being able to charge my account $499.99.

    Any suggestions?

    Dear Fred

I did call this Scam person at the number given in the email. Of 1-866-872-8721

Two Chinese people talked to me. Named Harry and Melissa

they both are determined to tell me that in order to stop the automatic $299 fee being charged to my Windows Account that I Must go online to CSUPPORT.US

there I must put a 5 digit code to request a refund of the $299

All they require people to do is certainly a scam. And it needs to be Shut Down!

I received a scam email concerning Windows Defender Protection this morning which I did not call phone number listed.  Just wanted to advise you of this email.

I received the email saying my credit/debit card had been charged $499.99 for Windows Defender Firewall. When I called the provided number (704) 764-1190 to cancel, I told the Asian person who answered I did not order it and I wanted it canceled. He asked for the order number, which I gave him. I asked if he was with Microsoft, and he said he was, so I asked for his name and badge number. He gave me badge #00O629 and the name Steve Johnson. I asked where he was calling from and he said Santa Monica, CA. I then said, "I think this is a scam," to which he replied, "Okay. Thank you." The email address was from Roger Harmelink <******@gmail.com>.
