Ok so where do I start. I was watching a youtube video on how to switch from legacy BIOS to UEFI, so I can overclock my cpu so I can do better gaming. I typed stuff into the cmd bar, and it ended up not working the same as the video. https://youtu.be/xOrbjql1s2s Thats the video link, and now everytime I login into my pc I see, “Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build083)

Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

This Product is covered by ine or more of the following patents: US5,307,459, US5,434,872 US5,732,094, US6,570,884, US6,115,766 and US6,327,625

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Series v2.44 (10/07/11)

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable

PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.

ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.” Theres only so much searching on youtube can do, so I decided to ask help from professionals. Please help me, I have schoolwork that needs to be done on this desktop.

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

You've probably converted your drive to UEFI boot format but UEFI mode is not enabled in your BIOS (or even worse not support by your BIOS). You need to try and enter the BIOS settings page... hopefully before the text you've mentioned above there is another page and it might show instructions for how to enter the BIOS. Often you would press DEL, or F12, or F2 or similar - see whether you can see any help on the screen.

If you can get to the BIOS look at the boot options and check whether you can enable UEFI boot mode.

    Regards,

    David

Well, if you can't get the computer to boot there isn't really much else you can do apart from get a friend to make it for your on their PC or perhaps purchase a USB install media from eBay or similar. But as I said you don't need a license, just the install media.

I should have said - there's also a fuller list of the various recovery options here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/12415/...

Look under UEFI boot sources and see whether it then allows you to choose a bootable location - if your HDD has been converted to UEFI you should see something like "Windows Boot Manager" to select in there.

Also look for a boot order.. make sure UEFI boot is first in the list. If you can't find that you could also try turning off "Legacy" mode if you can find that.

At worst you may end up having to use USB boot media either to attempt to repair the boot settings or install Windows again. You can create the boot media from the official download side (from another working Windows computer) here: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

Ok so im in the Boot menu and I see as follow, “ UEFI Boot Sources

    Legacy Boot Sources

    ATAPI CD/DVD Drive

    SATA2

    Hard Drive

    SATAO

Network Controller (Realtek PXE BO3 DOO) and im confused on what im supposed to do next. If I can get this figured out I swear I will never mess with unknown cmds again.
