Hi, running Windows 10 on HP 250 G6 Core Intel i5-7200 8GB 1TB laptop, recently all my browsers like edge & firefox have a very slow speed to browse, keep crashing (not responding), and doesn't keep up with my typing.

I have Avira free installed, have run ccleaner, defragmented, but the issue is still happening.

Internet speed works fine on my daughters tablet, and our phones etc.

Can you help please?

    Greetings,

My name is Rhaine, I'm Independent Community Advisor. I’m so glad assisting you today

I am also using Windows computer. Let us work together to sort this out.

You can try resetting the browser you are using, kindly follow the steps below.

    1. Open the browser.
    2. Press CTRL + Shift+ Delete on your keyboard the same time.
    3. A window will pop up, clear the cache and cookies.
    4. Reset the browser.

Once done run System File Checker to resolve the corrupted files in the system.

    Here’s the steps.

-Press Windows Key+ R to open the run box

-Type cmd , right click and run it as administrator.

-A screen will pop up and type sfc/scannow and hit enter

    -Wait until it finishes scanning

Once done resetting the browser, you can try to perform clean boot in your pc to get rid of unwanted application running in the background.

    1. Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig
    2. System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.
    3. On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.
    4. Click on services tab
    5. Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services > This is a very important part as if you miss to click on this, computer might not boot properly or permanently and will end up on clean installation.
    6. Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All
    7. Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.
    8. Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.
    9. Click OK , Apply and close the configuration utility
    10. Once done restart the pc.

I hope that the information above helps. Have a nice day ahead and be safe.

    With Warm Regards,

    Rhaine C.

Are Microsoft Windows 10 Update engineers just not getting the memo? 😳Before this update (KB4560960) had even finished downloading, Internet disconnection that started with the previous update, (KB4549951) and has been reported as recently as 6/9/20, (https://windowsreport.com/kb4560960/) had occurred, followed by an all operations "freeze", which forces me to shut down the computer in a manner not recommended by the manufacturer and that eventually causes permanent premature hard drive failure.

Contrary to the description Microsoft now considers Windows to be, ("a service") as opposed to what it currently is, (a product - one that I paid hard-earned money for and that, at present, is an abysmal failure) I pay for an Internet connection service to my ISP, not Microsoft. And, initially, I considered this to perhaps be causing the random, but habitual Internet disconnection that has plagued my Windows computer for the past 2 months. That is, until I saw the Forbes Magazine article identifying the issue and referencing statements that Microsoft has acknowledged this. That was April 25, 2020. Here it is now, June 11, 2020, nearly 2 months later and finally a new update is issued THAT DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS PRIME DYSFUNCTION! Is it any wonder that yesterday Apple, Inc. experienced an "all time" record high on the NYSE? Or why I am having to type this on my iMAC, having become SO frustrated with trying to correct Microsoft's mistakes on my end to NO avail, and finally shutting down my Windows computer until this is resolved?

Please, no more misdirection from well-intentioned Forum users and/or Independent Advisors, that only serve to further delay what Microsoft Update engineers seem to be oblivious to. To say, "You (Microsoft) can do better!" is like telling a Rhodes scholar that his "S.A.T. scores need to come up." JUST FIX IT!!!
