I use mobile hotspot daily and suddenly today when I turned on my laptop the mobile hotspot option was greyed out in the action tab,I went to the Network settings to turn it on but it showed me a message at the top saying "We can't set up Mobile Hotspot".I tried updating my drivers from device manager bit it didn't work. Then I checked for Hosted network capability where it said--"Hosted network supported : no".I went to the network connections and tried to enable the sharing option and it said "Internet connection sharing has been disabled by the Network Administrator". please help me fix this.

    Hello PIRATLASRIKAR

I am Antonio, a Microsoft Community member and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I hope I can help you on your concern.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. In windows search, search for Mobile hotspot settings
    2. In the mobile hotspot setting screen, is it turn on?

    Another solution:

    1. Can you see in keyboard a mobile hotspot icon? it's looks like a tower with signal on both sides
    2. Can you press Fn + that icon? That's to enable the mobile hotspot.

You're response is highly appreciated. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Antonio

Thanks for the feedback. Please try this based on the keyboard screenshot you sent:

    1. Press Fn + F12(the button with airplane icon)
    2. After you press it, please check the mobile hotspot icon in Windows if it is enabled now.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Hi PIRATLASRIKAR,

does your pc belong to a corporate network?

The Hosted Network has nothing to do with the Mobile Hotspot function.

Try to restore the network: Settings> Network and Internet> Status, click on Reset network on the side and follow the instructions.Otherwise try to enable / disable ICS: Go to Network Connections, access the properties of the network adapter connected to the internet. > Sharing tab, enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) then confirm by pressing OK (skip this step if ICS is already enabled). Return to the Sharing tab, disable ICS and confirm by pressing OK. Go to Settings> Network and Internet, enable the Mobile Hotspot and try again.

Note: When using the Windows 10 Integrated Mobile Hotspot feature, the check boxes on the Sharing tab must remain cleared otherwise the mobile hotspot will not work.

If the problem persists, try temporarily uninstalling any third party Firewall / Antivirus or VPN software and try again.
