Lumia 610. Windows Phone 7.8 Marketplace

Hi,

I've seen in some thread that the Marketplace does not work anymore for Windows 7 phones.

I would like to know if this is true. If indeed it is it is quite a shame as the os platform is pretty reliable. And it shows that you do not give a damn on your legacy products.

Adrian, I do not have any Windows Phone 7.8 devices (I got rid of all of them because of age) and kept a few WP8 devices as well as my WP10 device so I am not sure if the marketplace is not working. That said, this might be of some help.

    Go  to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/11696/windows-phone-7

Click on Download games and apps FAQ

    See if that helps....

I have a feeling it might not because age is a huge factor and support has to come to an end at some point. It is worth trying IMHO

Keep in mind that the Life Cycle refers to updates. The store may well remain open. For example, I just went to the store on my 8.1 device and downloaded and installed a new game on the device.

As for Adrian's question, he will have to try it and see if it still works.

Windows Phone 7 has not been supported since 2014 and 8.1 support just ended on July 11, 2017.  You may reference the following support article:

That's the official response I got from forum management when I asked the question a month ago. You can see it for yourself in one of the Influencer boards to which you probably have access. For obvious reasons I can't post a link here.
