Cannot remove Zonalarm - Missing from the list of installed programmes under Add or remove programs

Hi all, this is odd. I want to reinstall but first, completely uninstall ZoneAlarm. I followed the company's suggestion: open dialog panel, tools, preferences, uncheck automatic startup, then I can uninstall Zonealarm.

However, it is already unchecked by default, I never touched it, and still, ZoneAlarm automatically starts every time.

Even worse, I cannot find this app/software in the list of Control Panel ->Add or remove programs

It is simply not there. So I cannot uninstall!

What can I do about this?

    It holds good for Windows 10 too.

    Thank you very much!

    The tool does not run on my PC. It says it does not work with this version of Windows.

    What I finally did is to use the take ownership tool, and with the help of everything.exe, I located all the instances of Zonealarm. Then I took ownership of all the instances and folders, and used a brute uninstall.

    It did the job.
