Windows Defender not showing and Kaspersky Anti Virus keeps restarting?

As you can see from the picture above, I can't see any Windows Security options. Is there something wrong with the software? I have this laptop for about a month now and this is the first time I've seen this happen. Additionally, I have installed Kaspersky at the day I have bought the laptop to my household. This time, I can't see the antivirus and if I install it, it seems to ask me to restart and when I do, it makes me install again. I apologize for my English.

    Hi Naxicoy,

Check your "Services" screen again. Scroll down to the Windows Defender services.

You will probably find Windows Defender Antivirus Service is missing.

Kaspersky is probably involved. Have you tried to access "Windows Security" since

    Kaspersky has been installed?

If you want to run Windows Defender, you will need to "completely" uninstall

Kaspersky. By running its "removal tool" after uninstalling it. It sounds like it

    is malfunctioning anyway.

If you intend to continue to use Kaspersky, Windows Defender will only function

in "passive" mode. Meaning it can only be used for scans. You place it into passive

mode by turning on the Windows Defender "Periodic Scanning" switch. The switch

is located on "Virus & Threat Protection". When a third party antivirus is installed,

the switch is located below Ransomware protection. If you click "Windows Defender

Antivirus options" the switch will be revealed.

If you uninstall Kaspersky, and Windows Defender continues to exhibit a blank

"Security at a Glance" screen, please see the following link.

The "copy" procedure has been shown to work, by other "OPs". If you don't have access

to another PC, you can download a copy of WinDefend from HERE

    Instructions are included there.

    Good luck,  Glen

Sir is it not viable to reset the PC? I have not tried it. As much as possible I would like my files to stay in tact.

Hello sir! Thank you for answering. I tried your first suggestion. I can't seem to click restart. It's faded.

I tried the second one and these are what it says:

I will restart it as soon as I can confirm that it's alright sir. I may made a mistake

Good day! I'm Raniel, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Can you try to restart your Windows Security Center service?

    1. On your search bar, type "services" and select run as administrator
    2. On the services window, look for "Security Center" > right-click on it and select "Restart"
    3. Once done, try to check again

Kindly try to run the SFC and DISM command as well to try in repairing the system files:

    1. On the search bar, type "command prompt" and select Run as administrator
    2. Type the following commands in order

    sfc /scannow then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /ScanHealth then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth then press Enter

    rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN then press Enter

    1. Perform a reboot once done and check again.

If the issue persist, I suggest that you perform a repair install on the machine to properly fix your system files: https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2016/06/how-to...
