web pages open larger than screen

I've checked all display settings and see no changes made in years, yet suddenly each site I open is far too large for the screen.  Resize/move arrows are not visible.  Display resolution, font and screen size settings do not show any change.  Am unable to reduce page size other than constantly using the '- or+' buttons each time.  Am unable to see a  more than a few lines of text on the screen at one time.  Have asked for MSN help but nothing is fixing the problem or making the pages open as normal.  Please, any suggestion will be appreciated.

Hi Klaro. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

What you want is a brower's Zoom function normally found in Settings, but also available in most windows by holding Ctrl button and rolling the mouse wheel slowly, or tapping the + or - key. Frame the Window so it is large enough to read comfortably while you're setting back in chair, but also fits within the windows frame. Then it should remember the setting.

Also make sure you have the latest Display adapter driver from the PC maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model. While there check for the latest Chipset, BIOS, Sound, Network, USB3, Bluetooth and all other drivers to compare with the version/date installled for that device in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

Then in Settings > System > Display set the screen resolution to recommended to make the images sharpest. If this does not make them large enough, you can readjust the screen resolution to another, or set a custom Scaling, starting around 112-117% to see if that's sufficient.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

It is the browser that should remember the Zoom (not sizing - something else) Settings, or always have that I have experienced.

If not you can Reset the browser to see if that fixes it:

https://www.howtogeek.com/171924/how-to-reset-y.... For Edge reset in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.

If not then something is likely interfering with it. You can minimize this chance by turning off Startup freeloaders following Step 4 in this checklist:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

You can also Try another browser. I would have several browsers on your task bar so there's always one that's best for the task. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. It's easy to share bookmarks between all of them in their settings under Import Favorites from another Browser. Firefox and Chrome let you sign in to save and/or sync your Favorites on any other device you sign into, and are more reliable than Edge at doing this. Set the preferred browser as Default in Settings > Apps > Default Apps.

    Firefox download: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

    Chrome download: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Hi Greg,  Thanks again.  I had already tried each of the suggestions you offer and all the sizing settings to no avail.  After every restart the pages still open on the screen far too large.  The computer simply does not remember the settings.

This began after I tried to uninstall OneDrive(didn't work) could that have a connection to the size problem.  Hitting the '+ or -' buttons to be able to read each page is a bloody nuisance!  Thanks for the help.
