++ there is no official announcement on when the Windows 10 Mobile store closes (users only know that monthly updates for the Office apps (Excel, Word, Power Point, One Note ) will be stopped in January 2021 ++ I would not be surprised if the Windows 10 Mobile resists at least a year after that or even more (but here we never know) ++ when the store will be closed then you remain with your downloaded apps & many of these can work for years to come (including Office) ++ on social media there is a top Twitter app & third party apps for FB or YouTube ++ you can get plenty of news with Microsoft News, Daily Mail or RT ++ many Gameloft games, which exceed the phone's storage space (if you download them) ++ due to the leadership's decisions, Microsoft was unable to profit from the tremendous synergies that exist between  Windows phone & now more than 1 billion Windows 10 PCs (they launched Windows 10 mobile too early & unprepared, at a time when there were only approximately 100 million Windows 10 PCs & Windows 7 was still dominant) ++ there are thousands of usable apps (e.g. SHAREIT for file sharing or Duolingo or VLC player) ++ Nitro Nation Drag & Drift & Extreme Developers games like Metal Force are other examples //

They are selling it for cheap because it's great phone running on a dead OS. There are almost zero to no apps that are used by most people.

As for the continuum support, Microsoft is killing support for the Office apps next year(read here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4485197/windows-10-mobile-end-of-support-faq) and the OS has stopped receiving updates, thus rendering the Edge browser outdated and mostly unusable.

Buying a new Windows Phone is more like wasting your money now. But hey, it's your money, who am I to say?

I am thinking of buying an Android but in fact i really like the compatibility of Windows mobile with a computer.

A collegue showed it to me in 2019 with the HD 500 dock and i thought "great, really great"

Moreover on the net some persons are selling their Lumia 950 XL for a very cheap price.

The applications if downloaded, might continue to work, but you might not get any more app updates or support.

Just get an Android or an iPhone.
