No safe boot options - HP Pavilion G7 - Windows 10

I recently (June 21-20) updated Win 10 on my HP Pavilion g7 laptop. The update crashed and I ended up having to reinstall Win 10. Unfortunately my restore points weren't accessible so I couldn't restore. I accessed the HP troubleshoot options ("esc" at boot) and was looking for the safe boot option, which, is supposed to be in the "other options" under troubleshoot. I do not have that option available. The HP website is totally useless as they do not provide any information/support for my laptop. It does not even recognize my model or serial number. There are no drivers, BIOS updates, nothing!!

My question is how do I restore the safe boot options?  Are they controlled by the BIOS or Win 10?  I updated the BIOS some years back and I still have the file.

Unfortunately, HP does not support their equipment.  Their website does not recognize my machine or my serial number and there are no original drivers, BIOS updates, or anything else to assist owners.  Sad commentary on a once reputable name.

No.  When the update crashed, I attempted to start up in safe mode and try to figure out what the problem was.  On an HP laptop, in order to access safe boot start up options you have to press the escape key at boot, prior to Windows startup..  You are then presented with a number of options for repair and/or recovery.  One of these options is supposed to be "other advanced options."  Options for safe boot are in this menu.  My problem is I do not have the "Other advanced options" menu available, hence no access to safe boot.

    Hi M.CJackson,

Please, help me to understand the issue:

When you went to Settings > Update & Recovery and pressed the Restart now button below "Advanced startup". Your computer was restarted then you select Troubleshoot and not options was showed.

    Is that your issue?

Thanks for the tip.  As it is now, I don't need to boot in safe mode as the computer is functioning normally.  What I don't have are the safe boot options under the troubleshoot options.  Why do they not show up as they are supposed to and how do I restore them?
