Ok, but how do i stop my microphone picking up so much noise?

Whatever method you discover won't involve your computer.

I'm not sure if you understood what I originally wrote. A USB microphone outputs data - not sound. Whatever sound the mic produces is already encoded by the time it leaves the mic. It can't be manipulated any further by your computer.

Are you familiar with microphone polar patterns - cardiod, figure-8, omni? If your microphone offers different polar patterns you might be able to reduce the amount of noise it picks up.

I'm really sorry to hear that the steps I've provided did not solve the issue. Let me see what else can we do to rectify this.

You may try uninstalling and re-installing the sound card drivers from device manager and

    a. Type in Device Manager in the Start Screen. Select the same.

    b. Expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers in the Device Manager Window.

    c.Right click on the Device.

    d.Click on Properties.

    e.Click on Driver Tab.

    f.Click on Uninstall drivers.

    g.Click OK.

Now restart the computer and install the latest drivers and check if the issue still persists.

    Step 2:

If the issue still persists, reinstall the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check.

What is the make and model of the sound card or the laptop?

Please get back with the issue status.

I've done that, and It didn't fix it. I also do not know my manufacturers website nor my sound card model. When I got the microphone is auto downloaded the drivers. (Sorry for rate reply, I was In bed when you sent this)
