Most smart TVs will play an MP4 file from the built in USB port.
if you can fine the make and model of the TV we might be able to confirm it by checking the specs online.
i would be surprised if it didn't.

I have prepared a mp4 file of pictures that I have saved on a thumb drive that I want to show at my son's rehearsal dinner. The smart TV's at the facility have a USB port. If I plug the thumb drive into the smart tv, will the video play or do I need to be in windows for it to work?
