Hi,

For about 5 days now I have been having this issue with my audio, where if a sound plays be it windows/discord/steam I get a loud pop at the very start of the audio, it then plays fine. this video is a perfect example.

I have tried every troubleshooting guide there is, including reinstalling windows(twice) making sure every driver is up to date, uninstalling windows audio and realtek and reinstalling the latest drivers.

I have made sure everything is set to maximum power, I have also been in the registry and changed idle times so the audio is not going to sleep.

I first started getting this issue with the sennhieser GSP 670, which I returned only to get the same issue, I refunded those and now have the Arctis pro+game dac. these have the exact same problem which leads me to believe the headset is not at fault.

This reddit thread is the same problem I am having but after a year, I do not think he was able to fix said problem.

I really have tried every known solution to this and now after exhausting all leads, I do not know what else to do.

I have had this same sound problem since December last year, and it affected all of my stereos. I did a lot of research and doubts on several sites, even on Reddit, and apparently it's kind of a Windows 10 BUG, so the hardware is not to blame.

Microsoft needs to be notified of this problem, it is a widespread BUG.

I don't know of this information is relevant but I tried each build of windows, release/beta/dev all have the same issue.

I then reinstalled a 3rd time, this time using the microsoft cloud method, but when the setup was finished and you then get to select options before windows boots to the desktop for the first time, cortanas voice had the exact same pop when she read aloud the options.

This is before anything gets installed, the issue starts at the most basic level, which rules out any software/driver conflict.

To add, this reinstall was to reset everything and keep nothing, it's like i'm being haunted by this audio issue, nothing is working.

    Hi RDLouks,

I have not found any solution to this, I bought a new desktop pc , cables and a new monitor, as soon as I plugged it in it had the exact same problem.

at this stage I do not know if it's something a standard user can fix or even if it's related to windows.

Yes, I understand you, I also tried the same, when this problem started with me, I was really desperate to fix it, because it affected my work, games and discord... I tried to go back to the previous version and Windows simply deleted my restore point, I tried several versions of Windows 10 and drivers too, but the problem kept showing up...

I heard reports from people who tried to build a new factory PC (all parts were new) and this problem still happened, and from other people who tested Windows 10 on very old computers (Z87) and also had the same problem...

Windows 10 is to blame, but no one can explain how this problem also affects other builds/versions...

I have tried everything, I even got an electrician out to the house to check the outlets and wires and he did not find any issues.

I Have ordered a surge proctector that both protects against surges ( I don't think it's this) and regulates dirty power, to fully eliminate the possibility that it is from my end.
