Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Windows technical expert. I'll be happy to help you out today.

This implies that your computer is trying to boot using the RealTek network adapter. PXE refers to the Preboot Execution Environment where the network adapter is looking for OS setup files to install. To resolve, so into the BIOS for your computer and change the boot order to put the hard drive at the top of the list and/remove the network adapter from the list altogether.

If you still cannot boot, that would imply that your computer is no longer detecting the hard drive or boot configuration data is missing from the drive.

    Hi there,

I had this error, "Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller series v2.61

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable"

I have the same issue as well. I've checked all bios settings are fine. I removed my SSD and backed up my data as well. I wanted to reimage my SSD but also failed as well. It keeps showing no bootable device. And windows recovery failed. Reset PC also failed as well.

What i did was, i check my motherboard and ensure all cables are connected to whichever slots they are connected to. I found 1 thin cable which got disconnected from one of the port on the motherboard. I firmly pushed it in and switched on my laptop, the OS boot up as per normal. Now my laptop works fine as usual.

Maybe you get a technician to have a look at your motherboard and see if there is any cable that is loose or maybe needs replacement.

    I hope this helps.
