I can't think of any other option. DirectX 3.0 or an older version is not available from trusted websites.
I apologize if I can't give the right resolution to your problem.
Game needs directx 3 to install but wont accept my direct x.

Hey, i recently bought a **** for heroes of might and magic, when trying to run the setup process to install the game, it says i need certain requirements that i can fix easily.
But when it comes to direct x it says that i need direct x 3 and it scanned and showed that i just had direct x, but i have direct x 12 and it wont recognize it.
If any one could help i would really appreciate it.

Try to install DirectX End-User Runtimes. It has legacy DirectX SDK that is used by some older games.

You can find an older version of DirectX but not from trusted websites that why I don't recommend it.
The last option I can suggest is to run the game in Compatibility Mode.
Right-click the game >> select Properties >> click Compatibilty tab >> check the ' Run this program compatiblity mode for' >> select Windows 95 >> click Apply then try to install/run the game.

2020-08-22T05:36:04+00:00 I tried what you told me but it still doesn't work, it dose not recognize any of the later versions of it it just says directx instead of direct x 9-12.
They furthest that it can scan is direct x 3, and it wont register anything after that point.
