Has anyone solved running Maxtor under Windows 10??

PROBLEM:

The Problem?..... Since 2016 there is a mountain of complaints, (so I have just found in Windows community) about Maxtor OneTouch 4 failing to operate under Windows 10, when it has operated on all versions back to Windows NT. Most frustrating for Maxtor users. 

I have, in the last few days, learned that Windows 10 will not recognize the Maxtor external drive when connected USB.  I don't know why.

But I have found that hundreds of users going back 4 years have asked the very same question, with complaint.   

Unfortunately, after having just bought a new Dell Inspiron 5 3000, loaded with Windows 10, I find it will not run my Maxtor external drive!!.

I have been using it for years, mostly on my Inspiron 9400 (Windows XP pro.), and more recently on my Dell XPS L107X (windows 7).

I have heard that Windows has driver problems    this must be one of them.  Must I abandon Windows 10 and revert to Windows 7?

ISSUE

The issue?......  is I want to use my Maxtor, but it won't run under Windows 10!

"Maxtor what?": We had been talking of a Maxtor OneTouch 4, external mass storage device (Drive)

"Maxtor" is a brand name, not the name of a product. A Maxtor what?

Has anyone solved what problem? Please be specific. If you're talking about a Maxtor external drive, I know of no problems running them under Windows 10.
