The only option in advanced settings is CPU Setup. I’m looking for memory remapping, but can’t find it anywhere. I have a Lenovo Erazer X315. Any help?

Alright. This was the step I was trying to avoid, but I guess it’s my only option. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

I have seen this issue myself on and off in my IT career. First, ticking the option in msconfig will not fix it as Windows will use all memory in the system. The cause of the issue you are seeing is usually physical. Simply re-seating the memory should fix it. If you have an available slot, then just shift the module to the other bank. If they are "paired" banks, e.g. you have 4 slots, but 2 used, then just shift them to the other paired slots. Most laptops have a panel you can unscrew on the bottom to access the memory modules without needing to remove the entire bottom cover of the unit.

I did in fact have the maximum

memory checked in msconfig. Along with that, I did update the BIOS, but still nothing changed. If the option to remap the memory I have installed isn’t there, is there a different way to do that? I have 8 gigabytes of memory cuttently installed, but only 3.45 available to use, which is why a came looking for this option in BIOS to fix it. If there is another way to utalize that memory without remapping it this way, that’d be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Windows technical expert. I'll be happy to help you out today.

You can try updating the BIOS if that is an option for your device: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/des...

Otherwise, the option may not exist. What would lead you to think that anyway? If you seeing an issue with all your RAM not being available in Windows, then check that you did not toggle Advanced Options in msconfig by checking the Maximum memory option. That setting, along with Number of processors should not be checked since it is only used for debug.
