This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
As Toshiba provide 64 bit drivers for this machine and it is a x64 processor I assume that the machine is capable of being upgraded.
All the current updates are installed and there are no issues while running the 32 bit system (other than it is diabolically slow and very low on usable RAM.
I have tried several recommended fixes.
Including CMD (BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY)
CMD (sfc /scannow)and running Windows Memory Diagnostic all of which came back clean!
Still while attempting the upgrade I get the same error code.
At this point any suggestions (short of throw the damn'd machine away!) would be most welcome.

Hi Erik
Thank you for getting back to me.
The main reason I would like to change from 32 bit to 64 is to fix the Ram issue. My laptop has 8gb of available RAM of which the 32 bit system uses slightly less than 2gb. The result of this being that I am trying to work on large files in an extremely confined space. As a consequence it can take up to 5 mins or so to load some files and the processing speeds are worse than awful! I took the decision to upgrade when the process I was trying to run constantly ran out of space regardless of how I recoded it.
It's past bedtime here so I'll look at the the link you kindly provided tomorrow morning.
Again thank you for getting back to me so promptly.
Tony
Hi Erik
I haven't as yet tried downloading any Toshiba specific drivers. All I have done to date is to download the installation media from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows 10 onto a USB and run it to download the 64 bit setup files. Does this now need to be done again with the anti-virus turned off?
Please will you give me step by step instructions of what you wish me to do.
Many thanks
Tony
Hi,AnthonyJWebster
Last thing we need to do turn off the anti-virus. I understand you already try to update all the drivers. but here's the workaround we need to do, we need to manually download the drivers while your antivirus is turned off. after you manually download the driver and create a file folder for all the download drivers of the Toshiba. after you already downloaded everything you need to disconnect to the internet, and need to install the driver one a time, one driver after that reboot, every driver you installed need to reboot the laptop.
Link for the drivers that need to download every driver needs to be downloaded to this link

If your Toshiba is running well in windows 32 bit I suggest using the windows 10 32bit.becasues even I provided you the solutions that will be fixed BSOD - Kernel Security Check Fail and Ram memory couldn't handle the usage if will return back the same problem or maybe worsed that may cause crashed drive or it will corrupt the windows system.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

Erik
