    Hello Kinshi,

My Name is Chander and I am Independent Advisor and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I hope I can help you on your concern.

    Please follow these instructions -

    1. Log in as an administrator. Type gpedit.msc in the Search bar and hit Enter.
    2. Go to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus. Select Windows Defender > in the right-hand panel, you’ll see the option Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus. Double-click to open it.
    3. In the new window > select Disable > click OK to save the settings.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Windows technical expert. I'll be happy to help you out today.

Group Policy Editor is not available in Windows 10 Home. Assuming your device is not being centrally managed and you have administrative permissions, try the following:

Run regedit.exe > navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender and delete any values in the right side of the pane except for Default. Usually the offending value is named DisableAntiSpyware.

Also go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Real-Time Protection (if it exists) and delete any values in the right pane. Usually, the offending value is DisableRealtimeMonitoring.

Finally, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Advanced Threat Protection, and again delete anything in the right pane except Default value.

    Restart the computer when done.

If none of these correct your issue, confirm that you have not installed a 3d party antivirus and firewall service. If you did, then these services will register with Windows 10 and disable the built security mechanism offered by Windows.

    Hi kinshirastogi,

Your screenshot tends to indicate that you are not running W10 Pro on your PC.

A missing option in the "Security at a Glance" screen, can give your symptom.

Click "Start" and type "Windows Security". Then select Windows Security.

You should see the "Security at a Glance" screen.

It should display 7 options, 5 of which should be checked green. For any that are

checked otherwise, try to satisfy the message that they present.

More importantly, if there only 6 options available, you are probably missing

the option for "Virus & Threat Protection".  If this is your case, or if the screen

    is blank, please reply.

    Glen
