Xbox Wireless Controller Remove Failed

Recently my Xbox One wireless controller has stopped connecting to my PC.

When I go to PC Settings and go to Bluetooth & other devices I see that there is an Xbox Wireless Controller already there, however when I try to remove this it says "Remove failed" after a few seconds.

I have tried going to Device Manager and uninstalling the device from there, but when I scan for hardware changes it just reappears so obviously isn't uninstalling.

I can't connect my controller through Bluetooth or USB anymore and it's very frustrating so any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Greg,

I've tried my controller again this afternoon and it seems to be connecting straight away, so it looks like it's fixed it.

Thanks for your help and quick responses.

    Thanks Greg,

I had seen a different post on superuser.com, however this one does appear to have helped me.

I'll double check tomorrow and update if it's still connecting for me or not.

    Thank you for your help.
