Hypertrm.exe - system error

Hello! I have been receiving a popup error message (image attached) that reads "The code execution cannot proceed because HYPERTRM.dlll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." every time I switch on my laptop.

I usually just click ok on the message and it'll go away and I can still access everything I need but does anyone know how to fix this? I tried Googling and they had sketchy downloads and I don't want to be at risk of a virus so here I am haha thanks in advance!

You better update it. But before that please check the list of apps that are enabled in your Startup Apps. You can find this in your settings or simpy typing "Startup Apps" in the Start Menu. Please send me a picture of it.

Oh not yet, I'm still on Windows 10, version 1909. Is there a fix for version 1909 or should I just update to 2004?

Have you already updated your Windows 10 to the latest version (2004)?

Hi Benedict! Thank you for the response. I did as told and it says "windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations." and then I restarted my laptop but the same error message still popped up :(

    Hi MeIneo,

I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Sorry to hear that, I'm here to help and work with you in your concerns.

Please run System File Checker by doing the following steps:

    1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator, very often referred to as an "elevated" Command Prompt.
    2. Type the command below and then press Enter.

    sfc /scannow

Note: sfc /scannow will inspect all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds a problem with any of these protected files, it will replace it.

    1. Restart your computer.

Please let me know if that helps.

    Best Regards,

    Benedict P.

    Independent Advisor
